Review
Vic Hoyland’s trio sounded as though it were written in blood rather than ink. Its searing intensity and clarity of argument made it a fine foil to the other works in the programme. Hoyland’s work proved that it was possible to be expressive and accessible without treading the path of neo-romanticism.
