12: The Prehistoric & Schneider

I might include the prehistoric with this; that would be 4,000 years, maybe more: the ethnomusicologist Marius Schneider and his majestic research on the origins of music in prehistoric Spain, published at Barcelona in 1946.

Looking at the chapter headings, I have to believe that Messiaen had this book in his library. His monumental “Catalogue D’Oiseaux” and “Des Canyons aux Etoiles” come to mind.
